LHR Antibody (8G9A2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects luteinizing hormone/choriogonadotropin receptor (LHR) in both mouse and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), flow cytometry (FCM), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). LHR is a critical seven transmembrane, G protein-coupled receptor glycoprotein predominantly expressed in the ovaries and testes, where LHR plays a vital role in regulating reproductive functions such as spermatogenesis and ovulation by stimulating steroid production. LHR presence in these reproductive organs is essential for maintaining hormonal balance and facilitating the physiological processes necessary for fertility. Additionally, LHR expression has been linked to the protective effects of pregnancy and the modulation of gonadotropin levels, which are crucial for sustaining estrogen and progesterone during the early stages of pregnancy. Notably, LHR expression in breast carcinoma has been associated with tumor differentiation, with LHR-positive tumors being more prevalent in well-differentiated cases among premenopausal women. The gene encoding human LHR is located on chromosome 2p21, highlighting LHR significance in both reproductive health and cancer biology.
