LAMP-2 Antibody (M3/84.6.34) is a rat monoclonal IgG1 antibody targeting an epitope mapped to an immunoadsorbent-purified mouse macrophage glycoprotein fraction, with reactivity in mouse, rat, and human species. LAMP-2 monoclonal antibody (M3/84.6.34) is validated for applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and flow cytometry (FCM). LAMP-2, also known as CD107B, is a glycosylated type I transmembrane protein predominantly localized to the lysosomal membrane. LAMP-2′s cellular location is critical for maintaining lysosomal integrity, protecting the membrane from enzymatic degradation, and regulating lysosomal acidity, which is essential for the function of hydrolases within the organelle. LAMP-2 mediates the fusion of autophagosomes with lysosomes during autophagy, facilitating the degradation and recycling of cellular components. Synthesized in the endoplasmic reticulum and glycosylated in the Golgi apparatus, LAMP-2 reaches lysosomes through a distinct intracellular trafficking pathway. LAMP-2′s location and function are essential for cellular homeostasis, and LAMP-2 dysregulation is implicated in lysosomal storage disorders such as Danon disease and in pathological processes like tumor metastasis. Anti-LAMP-2 antibody (M3/84.6.34) serves as an invaluable tool for studying lysosomal dynamics, autophagy, and disease mechanisms.
