Laminin-R Antibody (16) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a light chain antibody that detects Laminin-R in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Laminin-R, also known as colon carcinoma laminin-binding protein, plays a crucial role in cell adhesion and migration, particularly in cancer progression. Anti-Laminin-R antibody (16) targets a protein primarily located in the cell membrane and integral to lysosomal membrane formation, allowing lysosomes to effectively attach to Laminin-coated surfaces. Laminin-R levels are significantly elevated in aggressive carcinomas, with expression nine times higher in colon carcinoma compared to adjacent normal colonic epithelium. This upregulation indicates involvement in tumorigenesis and highlights potential as a biomarker for cancer diagnosis and prognosis. Laminin-R′s interaction with other extracellular matrix proteins, such as fibronectin and vitronectin, underscores importance in maintaining cellular architecture and facilitating communication between cells and their microenvironment. Anti-Laminin-R antibody (16) serves as an essential tool for researchers investigating cancer progression mechanisms and cell adhesion roles in tumor biology.

Dear SC Team, I would like to use this antibody to detect by ELISA the 37KDa isoform only, do you know whether your antibody cross reacts with the 67KDa? could you confirm that your antibody is specific for the 37KDa only? Thanks

Asked by: Fede CB
Thank you for your question. We have not observed a 67 kDa band when testing this antibody, Laminin-R Antibody (16): sc-101517, in Western blot. However, we have not specifically tested whether or not this antibody has an epitope that may also cross-react with the 67 kDa isoform. And the exact epitope recognized by this monoclonal antibody has not been determined.

What is the recommended starting dilution for Western blot for Laminin-R (16): sc-101517 monoclonal antibody?

Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your question. The recommended starting dilution for Western blot is 1:100 with a dilution range of 1:100-1:1000. This information, along with other technical specifications, can be found in the “datasheet” link at the top of the product page, for which I have provided the link: https://datasheets.scbt.com/sc-101517.pdf If you have any further questions or concerns, please contact our Technical Service department by calling 800-457-3801 option 2, emailing scbt@scbt.com, or using the Live Chat function on our website.
