Laminin α-1 Antibody (F-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Laminin α-1 in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Laminin α-1 is a crucial component of basement membranes, which are specialized extracellular matrices that provide structural support and influence various cellular functions, including proliferation, migration, and differentiation. Laminin α-1 is a heterotrimer composed of α, β, and γ chain subunits, which allows for self-assembly and interaction with other matrix components, such as Type IV collagen and proteoglycans. This structural versatility is vital for maintaining tissue integrity and facilitating cell signaling. Notably, Laminin α-1 plays a significant role in the development and maintenance of epithelial tissues and is implicated in pathological conditions, including Alzheimer′s disease, where Laminin α-1 expression is found to be elevated in the frontal cortex. Anti-Laminin α-1 antibody (F-8) is an essential tool for researchers studying the dynamics of basement membranes and their impact on cellular behavior in health and disease.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from worked fabulouslyThe antibody worked fabulously in IHC at 1/50 down to 1/200 and took a little optimising for Western blotting, but using a 6% Tris-Acetate gel, 3 hour transfer to nitrocellulose at 70V and all antibody/blocking steps in TBST-5% milk made it work very nicely (primary concentration of 1/500).
