Lamin B1 Antibody (C-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects Lamin B1 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Lamin B1 antibody (C-12) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Lamin B1 plays a crucial role in maintaining the structural integrity of the nuclear envelope and is a key component of the nuclear lamina, which provides mechanical support to the nucleus and helps organize chromatin. In Ihren Referenzabbildungen finden sich welche, bei denen 2 LaminB1 Banden sind.  Kann das eine modifizierte z.B. farnesylierte Form von LmnB1 sein?

Vielen Dank für Ihre Anfrage. Ja, Farnesylgruppen binden kovalent an die Cysteinylreste von Proteinen und können durchaus eine deutliche Doppelbande hervorrufen. Dieser Effekt kann auch von anderen posttranslationalen Modifikationen des Proteins hervorgerufen werden. The western blot analysis of Lamin B1 expression in PC-12 whole cell lysate (A) and rat brain tissue extract (B) shows two bands with the latter is sample. Can this be due to prenylation? Yes, prenylation is one of multiple possible post-translational modifications a protein may experience. Prenylation and other modifications can cause the migration behavior of the protein to be altered.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from This Ab is useful for human but not for mouse.I checked α-Lamin B1 antibodies from Santa Cruz (B-10, 8D1, A-11, C-5 and C-12). This antibody doesn't react with mouse cells. The intensity of signal is strong in human cell. But it also detect other bands.

So Santa Cruz's trial sample programs are great opportunity for us. We initially tested non-conjugated one and worked very well. We purchased conjugated version and it worked even better.
