LAIR-1 Antibody (14) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects leukocyte-associated Ig-like receptor-1 (LAIR-1) in human samples through western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP) applications. LAIR-1 is a transmembrane glycoprotein predominantly expressed on human peripheral blood mononuclear leukocytes, playing a crucial role in immune regulation. LAIR-1 is located on the cell surface, where LAIR-1 functions as an inhibitory receptor that modulates immune responses by recruiting SHP-1, a phosphatase that negatively regulates cell signaling pathways. LAIR-1′s location enables influence over the activation and proliferation of immune cells, such as T lymphocytes and natural killer (NK) cells. When LAIR-1 is engaged, LAIR-1 can inhibit NK cell-mediated cytotoxicity and promote programmed cell death in myelomonocytic leukemic cell lines, highlighting LAIR-1′s role in maintaining immune homeostasis and preventing excessive immune activation. Additionally, LAIR-1 undergoes phosphorylation at specific tyrosine residues, which is essential for LAIR-1′s function and interaction with SHP-1, and the involvement of Src family kinases in this process underscores the complexity of the signaling mechanisms at play. With significant implications in immune regulation, anti-LAIR-1 antibody (14) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers studying immune responses and potential therapeutic targets in hematological malignancies.
