LAGE-1 Antibody (3H1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects LAGE-1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-LAGE-1 antibody (3H1) is available as the non-conjugated format. LAGE-1 plays a crucial role as a cancer-testis (CT) antigen, which is typically expressed in various malignancies while remaining absent in normal adult tissues, making LAGE-1 a promising target for immunotherapy. LAGE-1 (3H1) monoclonal antibody recognizes a protein known to activate type-1 melanoma-reactive CD4+ helper T cells, thereby facilitating robust and long-lasting antitumor immune responses. LAGE-1 gene encodes two distinct protein isoforms: a 180 amino acid variant featuring two glycine-rich regions and a hydrophobic stretch near the C-terminus, and a 210 amino acid variant that lacks this hydrophobic region. Both isoforms are predominantly expressed in melanoma cell lines, lung tumors, sarcomas, and other cancer types, while expression is restricted to the testis and placenta in normal tissues. This unique expression pattern underscores LAGE-1′s potential as a target for cancer immunotherapy, as LAGE-1 can elicit a specific immune response against tumor cells while sparing normal tissues.
