SEE ALSO...

L-ficolin Antibody (FCN219) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects L-ficolin protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-L-ficolin antibody (FCN219) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. L-ficolin, also known as ficolin-2 or ficolin-B in mouse and rat, is a 313 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in innate immune response as a pattern recognition molecule. L-ficolin is primarily secreted by the liver and found in plasma, where L-ficolin forms a disulfide-linked homopolymer, which can lead to the formation of a functional dodecamer polypeptide. This unique structure is essential for L-ficolin′s ability to bind to DNA ligands expressed by late apoptotic and necrotic cells, enhancing their attachment and subsequent engulfment by immune cells. L-ficolin concentration can vary significantly among individuals due to polymorphisms in the promoter and structural regions of the FCN2 gene, which has been linked to various health conditions, including Behçet′s disease. In patients with Behçet′s disease, notable differences in allele frequency for single nucleotide polymorphisms within the FCN2 gene have been observed, particularly at the -557 and -64 promoter sites, highlighting L-ficolin′s importance in immune regulation and disease susceptibility.
