L-ficolin Antibody (005-16-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that recognizes L-ficolin in human samples through western blotting (WB) and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). L-ficolin, also known as ficolin-2 or ficolin-B in mouse and rat, is a 313 amino acid protein belonging to the ficolin lectin family, playing a crucial role in innate immune response. L-ficolin is primarily secreted by the liver and circulates in plasma, where L-ficolin forms a disulfide-linked homopolymer, leading to a functional dodecamer polypeptide. L-ficolin binding to DNA ligands expressed by late apoptotic and necrotic cells enhances attachment and engulfment of these cells, facilitating cellular debris clearance and maintaining tissue homeostasis. Variations in L-ficolin concentrations among individuals link to polymorphisms in FCN2 gene promoter and structural regions, influencing susceptibility to diseases such as Behçet′s disease. In Behçet′s disease patients, significant differences in allele frequency for single nucleotide polymorphisms within the FCN2 gene occur, particularly at -557 and -64 promoter sites, highlighting genetic factors in immune response variability.
