SEE ALSO...

Krs-1 Antibody (87.K) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Krs-1 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). Anti-Krs-1 antibody (87.K) is available as the non-conjugated format. Krs-1, also known as MST-2, plays a crucial role in cellular signaling pathways, particularly in the regulation of apoptosis and cell proliferation. Krs-1 is a member of the mammalian Ste20-like kinases, which are part of the GCK subfamily of serine/threonine kinases. Krs-1 is primarily located in the cytoplasm and can translocate to the nucleus under certain conditions, which is significant for modulating various signaling cascades, including those activated by G protein-coupled receptors. Krs-1 phosphorylates specific substrates, including itself, allowing participation in the activation of downstream effectors such as ERK and JNK, which are vital for cellular responses to stress and growth signals. Additionally, Krs-1 is a direct substrate of caspase-3, linking to apoptotic pathways and highlighting importance in maintaining cellular homeostasis. The diverse roles of Krs-1 in these critical processes make this protein an essential target for research in cancer and other diseases where signaling pathways are disrupted.

I am using Krs-1 (87.K): sc-130405 antibody for immunoprecipitation, how much antibody should I use?

Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
Thank you for your question. We recommend using 1–10 µl (i.e., 0.2–2 µg) of antibody with 1 ml of cell lysate. However, optimal antibody concentration should be determined by titration. Please find our full immunoprecipitation protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoprecipitation-western-blots
