KLK1 Antibody (13G11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects KLK1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB). Anti-KLK1 antibody (13G11) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. KLK1, a member of the kallikrein family, plays a crucial role in post-translational processing of polypeptide precursors, which is essential for activating various biological pathways. This processing is particularly important in pancreatic function and blood pressure regulation, as KLK1 generates bradykinin, a peptide promoting vasodilation and inflammation. The human kallikrein gene family consists of 15 serine proteases, and while many members′ functions remain to be fully understood, these proteases are implicated in various physiological and pathological processes, including carcinogenesis. KLK2 and KLK3, also part of this family, have significant roles in prostate cancer and breast cancer diagnostics, highlighting KLK1′s importance in cancer research and potential therapeutic applications.
