KLF8 Antibody (12D2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects KLF8 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-KLF8 antibody (12D2) is available as a non-conjugated monoclonal isotype antibody. Krüppel-like factor 8 (KLF8), also known as basic Krüppel-like factor 3 or zinc finger protein 741, is a crucial transcriptional repressor composed of 359 amino acids that plays a significant role in regulating gene expression by binding to CACCC elements in DNA. KLF8 is predominantly located in the nucleus of various cell types, where KLF8 is involved in developmental processes and is notably upregulated in several human cancers, highlighting KLF8′s importance in tumorigenesis. KLF8′s ability to modulate gene expression is further influenced by post-translational modifications, particularly sumoylation, which serves as a regulatory mechanism. The modification of KLF8 at the sumoylation site, specifically the mutation of Lysine 67 to Arginine 67, has been shown to enhance transcriptional activity, thereby affecting KLF8′s role in cancer progression and cellular differentiation. KLF8′s versatility in gene regulation underscores potential as a therapeutic target and biomarker in cancer research.
