SEE ALSO...

KIFC1 Antibody (M-63) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects KIFC1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-KIFC1 antibody (M-63) is available as the non-conjugated format. KIFC1, also known as kinesin family member C1, HSET, or KNSL2, is a 673 amino acid protein that plays a pivotal role in organizing microtubules during cell division. KIFC1 is primarily located in the nucleus and features a C-terminal kinesin-motor domain, which is essential for function as a minus-end directed microtubule-dependent motor. KIFC1 interacts with NuMA and cytoplasmic Dynein to facilitate the organization of microtubule minus ends at spindle poles, a critical process for ensuring proper bipolar spindle formation. Disruption of KIFC1 function in HeLa cells leads to the formation of multipolar mitotic spindles, highlighting importance in maintaining the fidelity of cell division. KIFC1′s ability to regulate intracellular transport and spindle organization underscores significance in cellular processes, making anti-KIFC1 antibody (M-63) an invaluable tool for researchers studying mitotic mechanisms and kinesin-related transport pathways.

Hello, are you able to tell us where the epitope is in the protein sequence, that the antibody recognises? We are working with a slightly truncated version of KIFC1 and would like to know whether the antibody will recognise this. Many thanks!

Asked by: ZoeG
Thank you for your question. KIFC1 Antibody (M-63): sc-100947 was raised against recombinant KIFC1 of human origin. No epitope mapping has been performed for this antibody up to now.

Can sc-100947: KIFC1 (M-63) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: DefinitelyNotMatt
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-100947: KIFC1 (M-63) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
