JIP-1 Antibody (50) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects JIP-1 in mouse and rat samples through western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP) applications. JIP-1, also known as JNK interacting protein-1, plays a crucial role in regulating the c-Jun NH2-terminal kinase (JNK) signaling pathway, which is vital for cellular responses to stress, including apoptosis and inflammation. By binding to JNK, JIP-1 acts as a cytoplasmic inhibitor, sequestering JNK in the cytoplasm and preventing JNK activation of downstream target genes such as c-Jun and ATF-2. This interaction helps maintain cellular homeostasis and prevents excessive activation of stress response pathways that could lead to pathological conditions. Multiple splice variants of JIP-1, including JIP-1b and JIP-1c, add another layer of complexity to JIP-1 regulatory functions, especially in the brain, where these variants may have distinct roles in neuronal signaling and plasticity. Anti-JIP-1 antibody (50) serves as an essential tool for researchers studying the intricate mechanisms of JNK signaling and its implications in various diseases.

I am using JIP-1 (50): sc-135957 antibody for immunoprecipitation, how much antibody should I use?

    Asked by: Cweed
Thank you for your question. We recommend using 1–10 µl (i.e., 0.2–2 µg) of antibody with 1 ml of cell lysate. However, optimal antibody concentration should be determined by titration.
