JCAD Antibody (F-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects JCAD protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). JCAD (F-7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. JCAD protein, also known as junctional cadherin, plays a crucial role in cell adhesion and is essential for maintaining cell junction integrity, which is vital for tissue architecture and function. Disruption of JCAD function can lead to compromised cellular interactions, contributing to various pathological conditions, including cancer metastasis and developmental disorders. JCAD protein is primarily localized at the cell membrane, where JCAD interacts with other cadherins and catenins, forming a complex critical for establishing adherens junctions. These junctions are important for maintaining tissue homeostasis and regulating cellular signaling pathways. Additionally, chromosome 10, where JCAD gene is located, harbors several other important genes, including tumor suppressor PTEN, which is implicated in Cowden syndrome when mutated. Understanding JCAD′s role in cellular adhesion and interactions with other proteins can provide insights into potential therapeutic targets in diseases characterized by altered cell adhesion.
