ITI-H5 Antibody (B-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects ITI-H5 in mouse samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ITI-H5, also known as inter-alpha-trypsin inhibitor heavy chain H5, is a 942 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in extracellular matrix stabilization and tumor metastasis prevention, making ITI-H5 significant in cancer research. ITI-H5 is encoded by a gene located on human chromosome 10p14 and exhibits differential expression in various tissues, with highest levels found in placenta and notable expression in human breast tumors and ovarian tissues. ITI-H5 exists in four alternatively spliced isoforms and is composed of multiple polypeptides, including a heavy chain that may contain calcium-binding sites and two light chains. ITI-H5 includes two conserved domains: a vault inter-alpha-trypsin (VIT) domain and a von Willebrand type A (VWA) domain, which are essential for ITI-H5′s function in inhibiting plasma serine proteases and maintaining extracellular matrix integrity. Decreased expression of ITI-H5 has been implicated in various tumors, including breast cancer, highlighting ITI-H5′s potential as a biomarker for cancer progression and therapeutic target. Anti-ITI-H5 antibody (B-7) is therefore a valuable tool for researchers investigating ITI-H5′s role in cancer biology and related fields.
