ITFG2 Antibody (F-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects ITFG2 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ITFG2 (F-11) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ITFG2, also known as Integrin-alpha FG-GAP repeat-containing protein 2, is a 447 amino acid protein characterized by the presence of two FG-GAP repeats, a motif significant in integrin function. Integrins, which are heterodimers formed from noncovalently associated transmembrane α and β subunits, play a crucial role in mediating cell adhesion and signaling. ITFG2′s interaction with other integrin subunits is essential for forming functional receptors that bind to extracellular matrix components such as fibronectin, collagen, and vitronectin, as well as soluble ligands like fibrinogen. This binding is vital for various cellular processes, including cell growth, differentiation, migration, and apoptosis. Integrin clustering and activation in response to ligand binding initiates downstream signaling pathways that influence cellular behavior. Using anti-ITFG2 antibody (F-11) in research can provide insights into integrin roles in cellular dynamics and their implications in health and disease.

Can ITFG2 (F-11): sc-271420 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: Cweed
Thank you for your question. Yes, ITFG2 (F-11): sc-271420 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
