SEE ALSO...

IRF-5 Antibody (10T1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects IRF-5 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). IRF-5 (10T1) antibody is available in a non-conjugated form, allowing for versatile experimental use. Interferon regulatory factor 5 (IRF-5) is a crucial member of the IRF family of DNA-binding proteins, which also includes IRF-1, IRF-2, IRF-3, IRF-4, IRF-6, IRF-7, ISGF-3γ p48, and interferon consensus sequence-binding protein (ICSBP). This family plays a significant role in regulating both interferon and interferon-inducible genes, making IRF-5 essential for immune response modulation. Notably, IRF-5 is involved in the signaling pathways activated by viral infections, directly transducing signals that lead to the expression of various cytokines and chemokines, which are vital for orchestrating the immune response. Additionally, IRF-5 is known to interact with several specific proteins, including p53, which, while a direct target of IRF-5, does not influence cell cycle regulatory and pro-apoptotic functions, highlighting the complex regulatory mechanisms at play in immune signaling and cellular responses.

Can the (10T1) clone be used for use in immunohistochemistry of formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sections?

Asked by: cjMara
This antibody, IRF-5 (10T1): sc-56714, has not yet been tested for IHC(P). Instead we would strongly recommend an alternate clone, IRF-5 (C-6): sc-390364, which has excellent data in FFPE human tissues.
