IPP-2 Antibody (70.5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects IPP-2 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Anti-IPP-2 antibody (70.5) is available as the non-conjugated format. IPP-2, also known as I-2, plays a crucial role in regulating protein phosphatase 1 (PP1) activity, which is essential for various cellular processes, including cell division, metabolism, and signal transduction. Located primarily in the cytosol, IPP-2 interacts with the catalytic subunit of PP1 to form the inactive heterodimer complex PP1I. This complex is vital for maintaining the balance of phosphorylation and dephosphorylation events within the cell. The activation of the PP1I complex is initiated by the reversible phosphorylation of IPP-2 at Thr 72 by glycogen-synthase-kinase (GSK3), which is further enhanced by phosphorylation at Ser 86, Ser 120, and Ser 121 by casein kinase-II. These post-translational modifications are critical as they regulate the activity of the PP1I complex, thereby influencing numerous signaling pathways. Additionally, IPP-2 may function as a chaperone, assisting in the proper folding of PP1, which underscores its importance in cellular homeostasis. The gene encoding human IPP-2 is located on chromosome 6 within the major histocompatibility complex region, highlighting its potential role in immune responses.

Can sc-130392: IPP-2 (70.5) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

    Asked by: jenniferc
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-130392: IPP-2 (70.5) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
