Integrin β1 Antibody (12G10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects human Integrin β1 by western blotting (WB) (non-reducing), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and flow cytometry (FCM). Anti-Integrin β1 antibody (12G10) is available in non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Integrin β1 is a crucial component of integrin receptors, which are heterodimers formed by the noncovalent association of α and β subunits. The presence of 16 α and 8 β subunits allows for the formation of over 20 distinct integrin receptors, each playing a vital role in cell adhesion and communication with the extracellular matrix. Integrin β1 interacts with ligands such as fibronectin, collagen, and vitronectin, facilitating cell attachment and signaling. This interaction is essential for various biological processes, including cell growth, differentiation, migration, and apoptosis. Integrin β1 binds to soluble ligands and counterreceptors on adjacent cells, such as intracellular adhesion molecules (ICAMs), underscoring its importance in cellular aggregation and tissue integrity. The activation of integrin-mediated responses requires both receptor clustering and ligand occupancy, highlighting the intricate regulatory mechanisms that govern cell behavior. Integrin β1 (12G10) monoclonal antibody serves as an invaluable tool for researchers studying the complex roles of integrins in health and disease.

I would like to inquire whether this antibody is specifically targeted at the activated form of Integrin β1.

Asked by: Anonymous
Thank you for your question. Integrin β1/ITGB1 Antibody (12G10) is recommended for detection of Integrin β1 of human origin by WB (non-reducing), IP, IF and FCM. The non-reducing condition is intended to preserve the protein conformation for compatibility with specific antibodies, whereas the activated state refers to the functional modification status of the protein. These two properties belong to different dimensions and have no inevitable correlation.

I need to use an antibody to detect the protein in samples of equine origin. Do you know if this mouse monoclonal antibody will work?
