SEE ALSO...

Integrin αX Antibody (B-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Integrin αX of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Integrin αX antibody (B-6) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Integrin αX, also known as CD11c, is a type 1 transmembrane protein that plays a crucial role in the immune system by forming a leukocyte-specific integrin when combined with the β2 chain, known as the inactivated-C3b receptor 4 (CR4). This integrin is essential for mediating the adherence of neutrophils and monocytes to activated endothelial cells, as well as facilitating the phagocytosis of complement-coated particles, which is vital for the clearance of pathogens and the initiation of immune responses. Abnormal expression of Integrin αX is notably associated with hairy cell leukemia, highlighting its importance in cancer biology and immune regulation. Transcription of Integrin αX is influenced by various proteins and DNA elements, including Sp1, AP-1 family members, and PU.1, which underscores the complexity of regulation in immune cells. Integrin αX is predominantly expressed on monocyte-derived dendritic cells, macrophages, and natural killer cells, and upon activation, dendritic cells located in tissues such as the skin, lungs, and gastrointestinal tract can migrate to lymphoid organs, where they interact with T and B cells to orchestrate adaptive immune responses.

Can Integrin αX (B-6): sc-46676 monoclonal antibody be used in IF or IHC with mouse tissue or cells? Will there be non-specific staining?

Asked by: TinTin
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, Integrin αX (B-6): sc-46676 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC and AlexaFluors.
