SEE ALSO...

ILBP Antibody (E-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects ILBP protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ILBP (E-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The ileal lipid binding protein (ILBP) is a member of the fatty acid binding protein (FABP) family, which plays a crucial role in lipid metabolism by binding and transporting long-chain fatty acids. Located in the cytosol of ileocytes, ILBP is essential for the active uptake of bile acids in the ileum, facilitating the transport of dietary lipids from the liver. ILBP′s structure consists of ten antiparallel β strands arranged in two nearly orthogonal β sheets, resembling a β clam shell, and is covered on one side by two short, nearly parallel α helices. This unique configuration allows ILBP to effectively bind fatty acids and bile acids, enhancing affinity for bile acids through a positive-feedback regulation mechanism. The human ILBP gene is located at position 5q35 and is predominantly expressed in the small intestine, underscoring ILBP′s vital role in digestive health and lipid absorption.
