SEE ALSO...

IL-8RB Antibody (E-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects the IL-8RB protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and flow cytometry (FCM). IL-8RB monoclonal antibody (E-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The IL-8RB protein, also known as C-X-C motif chemokine receptor 2, plays a crucial role in mediating inflammatory responses by acting as a receptor for interleukin-8 (IL-8), a potent chemotactic factor for neutrophils. This receptor is predominantly expressed on neutrophils, with lower levels found on monocytes and certain myeloid cell lines, which underscores its importance in the immune response and inflammation. Notably, IL-8RB is part of the seven transmembrane domain rhodopsin superfamily of receptors, which are essential for G protein-coupled signal transduction. The interaction of IL-8RB with IL-8 not only facilitates neutrophil chemotaxis but also enhances their activation, making IL-8RB a key player in the pathophysiology of various inflammatory diseases. Understanding the dynamics of IL-8RB and its signaling pathways can provide insights into therapeutic targets for conditions characterized by excessive inflammation.

What negative control should be used when using the conjugated version of IL-8RB (E-2): sc-7304 monoclonal antibody in flow cytometry?

Asked by: sweetums
Thank you for your inquiry. We recommend using the isotype specific normal mouse IgG conjugated to the same fluorophore. For example, if you are using sc-7304 PE, then you would want to use normal mouse IgG1 PE, sc-2866.
