IL-5 Antibody (H-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects IL-5 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). IL-5 Antibody (H-3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Interleukin-5, or IL-5, plays a crucial role in the immune system by promoting the growth and differentiation of eosinophils, which are essential for combating parasitic infections and are also involved in allergic responses. IL-5 is primarily secreted by activated T cells and acts on IL-5R to exert biological effects. IL-5 is synthesized as a precursor that undergoes cleavage to yield a mature protein, which is a disulfide-linked homodimer. IL-5 interaction with IL-5R is vital for the regulation of eosinophil levels in tissues, and dysregulation of this pathway can lead to various allergic diseases and asthma.
