IL-3Rα Antibody (S-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects the IL-3R alpha protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). IL-3Rα monoclonal antibody (S-12) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The IL-3R alpha protein plays a crucial role in hematopoiesis, as IL-3R alpha is part of the interleukin-3 receptor complex that mediates the effects of IL-3, a cytokine essential for the proliferation and differentiation of hematopoietic cells. The IL-3 receptor is composed of an α subunit, which binds the ligand with low affinity, and a β subunit that is necessary for high-affinity binding and signal transduction. Notably, the β subunit is also shared with the receptors for IL-5 and granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF), highlighting the interconnectedness of these signaling pathways in regulating immune responses. The activation of the IL-3 receptor leads to the phosphorylation of JAK2, a member of the Janus kinase family, which subsequently activates the transcription factors Stat5a and Stat5b, promoting gene expression that drives cell survival and proliferation. Understanding IL-3Rα function is vital for elucidating IL-3Rα role in various hematological disorders and potential therapeutic interventions.
