IL-2 Antibody (F-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects IL-2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). IL-2 (F-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. IL-2 protein plays a crucial role in the immune response, primarily functioning as a growth factor for T cells, which are essential for adaptive immunity. Secreted mainly by activated helper T cells, IL-2 promotes the proliferation and differentiation of T cells, thereby enhancing the immune system′s ability to respond to pathogens. Additionally, IL-2 acts on B cells, supporting their growth and function, which is vital for antibody production. IL-2 regulation is complex, involving multiple signaling pathways, including the c-Fos/c-Jun induction pathway, the c-Myc induction pathway, and the Rapamycin-sensitive pathway, all of which contribute to the survival and proliferation of immune cells. Furthermore, transcription factor NFAT is integral to IL-2 transcription regulation, and NFAT activity has been linked to age-related declines in IL-2 expression, highlighting IL-2′s importance in maintaining immune function throughout life.
