IL-1F7 Antibody (6A6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects IL-1F7 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). IL-1F7 (6A6) antibody is available as the non-conjugated form. IL-1F7 protein, also known as IL-1zeta, IL-1 homolog 4 (IL-1H4), or IL-1 related protein 1 (IL-1rp1), is a member of the IL-1 superfamily, which plays a crucial role in immune response regulation. This secreted ligand is primarily expressed in the cytoplasm of peripheral monocytic cells, where IL-1F7 localizes to the inner surface of the plasma membrane and the nuclear membrane, indicating potential involvement in immune modulation. Notably, IL-1F7 has five isoforms resulting from alternative splicing, designated IL-1F7a through IL-1F7e, with isoform b being the mature functional form that interacts with the IL-18 receptor alpha chain and the IL-18 binding protein, acting as an antagonist to IL-18. The structural diversity among these isoforms, particularly the distinct N-terminus of isoform a and the truncated forms of isoforms c and d, highlights the complexity of IL-1F7′s function in immune signaling. Additionally, IL-1F7 shares 36% sequence identity with IL-1 receptor antagonist (IL-1ra), further emphasizing IL-1F7′s significance within the IL-1 superfamily and potential implications in therapeutic applications targeting inflammatory diseases.
