IL-1F5 Antibody (D-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects IL-1F5 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). IL-1F5 (D-11) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. IL-1F5, also known as IL-1δ, IL-1 like protein 1 (IL-1L1), IL-1HY1, IL-1ra homolog 1, or IL-1 related protein 3 (IL-1rp3), is a secreted ligand within the IL-1 superfamily, which plays a crucial role in the immune response. IL-1F5 is primarily expressed in monocytes and macrophages and is activated by endotoxins, highlighting its importance in mediating inflammatory responses. IL-1F5 functions as an antagonist, specifically inhibiting the activation of NFκB by IL-1F9, which is vital for regulating inflammatory processes. IL-1F5 shares 47% sequence identity with IL-1ra and exhibits a similar structural feature, lacking the loop between the fourth and fifth β-strands, which is significant for its functional role. The regulation of IL-1F5 by bacterial lipopolysaccharide (LPS) further emphasizes its involvement in the host′s response to infection and injury, making IL-1F5 a critical target for research in immunology and inflammation.
