    SEE ALSO...

IL-18Rβ Antibody (48986) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects IL-18R beta protein of human origin by western blotting (WB) and flow cytometry (FCM). Anti-IL-18R beta antibody (48986) is available as the non-conjugated format. The interleukin-18 receptor (IL-18R) plays a crucial role in the immune response by mediating the effects of interleukin-18, a cytokine that is pivotal for the production of interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) and the enhancement of natural killer (NK) cell cytotoxicity. IL-18R is a type I membrane protein found in various tissues, including the lung, spleen, liver, thymus, prostate, small intestine, colon, placenta, and heart, while notably absent from the brain, skeletal muscle, pancreas, and kidney. The interaction between IL-18 and IL-18R triggers the activation of the NFκB signaling pathway, which is essential for the transcription of genes involved in inflammatory responses. IL-18R is composed of two subunits: IL-18Rα, which serves as the ligand-binding chain, and IL-18Rβ, which functions as the signal-transduction chain. Understanding the structure and function of IL-18R is vital, as IL-18R not only facilitates immune responses but also has implications in various diseases, including cancer and autoimmune disorders.
