IgG1 Antibody (2C11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects the IgG1 protein of human origin by immunofluorescence (IF). Anti-IgG1 antibody (2C11) is available as the non-conjugated format, providing researchers with a versatile tool for studying immune responses. IgG1 protein is a crucial component of the immune system, functioning primarily as an antibody that binds to pathogens such as viruses, bacteria, and fungi, thereby facilitating their neutralization and clearance from the body. IgG1 is the most abundant immunoglobulin subclass in serum and plays a vital role in activating the complement system, which enhances the ability of antibodies and phagocytic cells to clear microbes and damaged cells. IgG1 is unique among immunoglobulins as it can cross the placenta, offering passive immunity to the fetus during the early stages of life when its own immune system is still developing. This characteristic underscores the importance of IgG1 in both maternal and neonatal health, making IgG1 (2C11) antibody an essential reagent for studies focused on immunology, vaccine development, and understanding immune responses in various diseases.

What is the recommended fixation method for immunofluorescence staining with IgG1 (2C11): sc-52003 monoclonal antibody?

Asked by: cjMara
Thank you for your inquiry. We recommend fixing cells for 5 minutes in -10ºC methanol and allowing to air dry. The full protocol can be viewed here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining
