SEE ALSO...

IgG1 Antibody (14G11) is a rat monoclonal IgG antibody that detects mouse IgG1 by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-IgG1 antibody (14G11) is available in non-conjugated form. IgG is a monomeric immunoglobulin composed of two heavy chains and two light chains, existing in four subclasses: IgG1, IgG2, IgG3, and IgG4, each possessing two antigen-binding sites. IgG1 is the most abundant immunoglobulin in serum and plays a crucial role in immune response, particularly due to an ability to cross the placenta, providing essential protection to developing fetuses during early stages of life when their immune systems are not yet fully functional. The structure of IgG1, with a flexible hinge region, allows for optimal binding to antigens and facilitates interactions with various immune cells, enhancing effectiveness in neutralizing pathogens such as viruses, bacteria, and fungi. IgG1 can activate the complement system through the classical pathway, promote opsonization for phagocytosis, and neutralize toxins, making IgG1 a vital component of adaptive immune response.
