IGF-II Antibody (H-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects IGF-II of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). IGF-II monoclonal antibody (H-11) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The insulin-like growth factor II (IGF-II) plays a crucial role in fetal development and growth regulation, primarily functioning as a growth factor that influences cell proliferation and differentiation. IGF-II is particularly important during prenatal development, as IGF-II is predominantly expressed by placental trophoblasts and is regulated by placental lactogen. IGF-II is encoded by the human IGF-II gene located on chromosome 11p15.5, which produces a 180 amino acid precursor that is subsequently processed into the active form of IGF-II. Notably, IGF-II interacts with IGF-binding proteins, which modulate IGF-II activity and availability, thereby influencing various metabolic processes. Variants of the IGF-II gene and binding proteins have been linked to metabolic changes associated with overfeeding, highlighting the significance of IGF-II in both developmental biology and metabolic regulation.
