Ig κ chain Antibody (MH19-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 light chain antibody that detects Ig κ chain in human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Ig κ chain plays a crucial role in immune response by forming part of immunoglobulin structure, which is essential for recognition and binding of antigens. Anti-Ig κ chain antibody (MH19-1) targets proteins primarily located in B cell cytoplasm, where Ig κ chain is synthesized and assembled with heavy chains to form functional antibodies. Ig κ chain presence is vital for proper folding and stability of immunoglobulin molecules, ensuring effective antigen binding and subsequent immune activation. Expression of κ chains is tightly regulated during B cell development, with individual B cells typically expressing only one type of light chain, either κ or λ, which contributes to antibody repertoire diversity. Ig κ chain′s ability to interact with specific heavy chains is fundamental for complete antibody formation, highlighting Ig κ chain′s importance in adaptive immunity and defense mechanisms against pathogens.
