SEE ALSO...

Ig κ chain Antibody (L1C1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Ig κ chain protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and flow cytometry (FCM). Ig κ chain (L1C1) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Ig κ chain plays a crucial role in immune response, as one of two types of light chains forming part of immunoglobulin structure, essential for specificity and functionality of antibodies. Immunoglobulins, composed of two identical heavy chains and two identical light chains, are vital for recognizing and binding to antigens, facilitating their removal from the body. Kappa light chain presence influences overall stability and affinity of antibodies for target antigens. In humans, kappa light chain genes are located on chromosome 2, and their rearrangement during B cell development creates diverse antibody repertoires capable of responding to various pathogens. Unique genetic combinations of heavy and light chains enable production of antibodies with specific binding sites, fundamental for effective immune responses.

How can Ig κ chain (L1C1): sc-59265 mouse monoclonal antibody be used for double or triple staining, if the other primary antibodies are also raised in mouse?

Asked by: TinTin
In this case, we recommend using a directly conjugated mouse monoclonal primary antibody. This antibody is available conjugated to phycoerythrin (sc-59265 PE) or fluoroscein (sc-59265 FITC).
