IFT81 Antibody (A-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects IFT81 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). IFT81 (A-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. IFT81, also known as intraflagellar transport 81 or CDV1 (carnitine deficiency-associated protein expressed in ventricle 1), consists of 676 amino acids and is predominantly expressed in the testis, with moderate levels found in the heart, liver, ovary, pancreas, kidney, and skeletal muscle. IFT81 is crucial for intraflagellar transport, which is essential for the assembly and maintenance of cilia and flagella, structures that play vital roles in cellular signaling and motility. Disruptions in IFT81 function can lead to defects in cilia formation, which are associated with a range of developmental disorders and diseases, including those affecting the respiratory and reproductive systems. The gene encoding IFT81 is located on human chromosome 12, a region that harbors over 1,100 genes and is linked to various genetic disorders, such as hypochondrogenesis and Noonan syndrome.
