    SEE ALSO...

IFT20 Antibody (3F3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects IFT20 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-IFT20 antibody (3F3) is available as the non-conjugated format. IFT20, consisting of 132 amino acids, plays a crucial role in the assembly and maintenance of cilia, which are essential for various cellular processes, including signaling and motility. Located in key cellular structures such as the Golgi apparatus, cilium basal body, and centrosome, IFT20 is involved in the intraflagellar transport (IFT) system, where IFT20 interacts with KIF3B to facilitate the movement of ciliary membrane proteins from the Golgi to the cilium. This transport is vital for proper functioning of cilia, and defects in IFT20 can lead to severe consequences, including misorientation of the mitotic spindle and development of cystic kidney disease, potentially resulting in renal failure. IFT20 is expressed in multiple isoforms and is encoded by a gene located on human chromosome 17, which is significant as chromosome 17 contains over 1,200 genes and represents nearly 2.5% of the human genome.

I am using IFT20 (3F3): sc-517184 for immunofluorescence, what dilution of this antibody should I use?

    Asked by: AbPolly
Thank you for your question. We recommend a starting dilution of 1:50. However, optimal antibody concentration should be determined by titration. Please find our full immunofluorescence protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining
