IFN-β Antibody (A1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects human IFN-β by western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). Anti-IFN-β antibody (A1) is raised against recombinant human IFN-β. IFN-β monoclonal antibody (A1) is available in non-conjugated and conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates, offering versatility for various experimental needs. Anti-IFN-β antibody (A1) interacts with the type I interferon receptor (IFNAR), composed of IFNAR1 and IFNAR2 subunits, which recruit and activate JAK1 and TYK2 kinases, initiating downstream signaling through STAT proteins to regulate antiviral and immune responses. IFN-β plays a crucial role in immune response, particularly in regulating antiviral activity, making IFN-β essential for defense against viral infections. IFN-β is produced by fibroblasts and leukocytes in response to viral infections and other stimuli, and IFN-β signaling through IFNAR leads to activation of numerous genes involved in antiviral defense. This signaling pathway enhances immune response and has implications in treating various diseases, including certain cancers and autoimmune disorders. Type I interferon genes, including IFN-β, are clustered on human chromosome 9, and understanding IFN-β expression and regulation can provide insights into therapeutic strategies for enhancing immune responses.
