IFN-α2 Antibody (A00033.01) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects IFN-α2 in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). IFN-α2, a member of the type I interferon family, plays a crucial role in the immune response by modulating the activity of immune cells and enhancing the antiviral state of neighboring cells. This cytokine is primarily produced by leukocytes in response to viral infections and is essential for the activation of various immune pathways, including the upregulation of major histocompatibility complex (MHC) molecules, which are vital for the presentation of viral antigens to T cells. The ability of IFN-α2 to induce the expression of MHC class I molecules not only aids in the recognition and elimination of infected cells but also contributes to the overall antitumor immunity, making IFN-α2 a significant target for therapeutic interventions in cancer and viral diseases. Anti-IFN-α2 antibody (A00033.01) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers studying the intricate mechanisms of immune regulation and the therapeutic potential of interferons in clinical settings.

I am using IFN-α2 (A00033.01): sc-81019 for immunofluorescence, what dilution of this antibody should I use?

    Asked by: AbPolly
Thank you for your question. We recommend a starting dilution of 1:50. However, optimal antibody concentration should be determined by titration. Please find our full immunofluorescence protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining
