ICT1 Antibody (2A8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects ICT1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-ICT1 antibody (2A8) is available as the non-conjugated monoclonal isotype antibody. ICT1 protein, also known as DS-1, plays a crucial role in the translation process within mitochondria, functioning as a release factor that facilitates the termination of protein synthesis. This function ensures proper synthesis of mitochondrial proteins, which are essential for cellular respiration and energy production. Disruptions in ICT1 expression can lead to mitochondrial dysfunction, which is implicated in various diseases, including cancer. Notably, ICT1 expression is downregulated over fourfold during the differentiation of colon stem cells, suggesting potential as a biomarker for colon carcinomas.
