SEE ALSO...

Hugl-1 Antibody (B-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Hugl-1 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Hugl-1 (B-6) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Hugl-1 plays a crucial role in regulating mitotic spindle orientation, differentiation, proliferation, and tissue organization of neuroepithelial cells, highlighting its importance in maintaining proper cellular architecture and function. Localized primarily in the cytoplasm, Hugl-1 is part of a complex essential for preserving cell polarity and epithelial integrity, which are vital for normal tissue development and function. Additionally, Hugl-1 interacts with several key proteins, including nonmuscle Myosin II heavy chain, PRKCI/aPKC, PARD6B/Par-6, PARD6A, and STX4A, further underscoring its role in cellular signaling pathways. Hugl-1 expression is observed in tissues such as the kidney, brain, and muscle, where Hugl-1 enhances cell adhesion and reduces cell migration. As a tumor suppressor in humans, loss of Hugl-1 expression has been implicated in the progression of colorectal cancer and melanoma. LLGL1, the gene encoding Hugl-1, shares significant homology with the Drosophila tumor suppressor gene l(2)gl, which encodes Lgl, also involved in maintaining cell polarity and epithelial integrity.

Is this antibody gonna recognize Llgl1 in mouse? have someone tried IF with this antibody in mouse tissue?

Asked by: gtgt
Thank you for your question. Based on the tests in our lab, Anti-Hugl-1 Antibody (B-6) is recommended for detection of Hugl-1 of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF and ELISA. We currently do not recommend it for immunocytochemistry.
