SEE ALSO...

HTLV-1 gp46 Antibody (1C11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects HTLV-1 gp46 protein of HTLV-1 origin by western blotting (WB) and immunofluorescence (IF). HTLV-1 gp46 (1C11) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The human T-lymphotropic virus (HTLV) is a single-stranded RNA retrovirus linked to serious health conditions such as T cell leukemia and T cell lymphoma, as well as potential involvement in demyelinating diseases. HTLV-1, a member of the HTLV family, is associated with several diseases, including HTLV-1-associated myelopathy and a connection to Strongyloides stercoralis infection. Transmission of HTLV-1 occurs through sexual contact, childbirth, and exposure to contaminated blood. HTLV-1 gp46 is a surface glycoprotein located on the viral envelope, playing a crucial role in the host′s immune response to the virus. Notably, HTLV-1 gp46 undergoes post-translational modifications, including glycosylation, which are essential for stability and function. These modifications enhance HTLV-1 gp46′s ability to interact with host cell receptors, facilitating viral entry and influencing immune evasion strategies. Understanding these modifications is vital for developing therapeutic strategies against HTLV-1-related diseases, as they can impact the efficacy of potential vaccines and treatments.
