HSV-1 Antibody (20.7.1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects HSV-1 protein in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. HSV-1 (20.7.1) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates, providing versatility for different experimental needs. The herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) is primarily known for causing orofacial lesions, commonly referred to as cold sores, and is a member of the Herpesviridae family, characterized by its large double-stranded DNA genome and an icosahedral nucleocapsid enveloped in a lipid bilayer. One of the critical aspects of HSV-1 is its ability to establish latency in the host′s sensory neurons after the initial infection, which is crucial for understanding the virus′s lifecycle and potential reactivation events that can lead to recurrent disease. The latent phase allows HSV-1 to evade the host′s immune response, making viral persistence a significant factor in the population. Understanding the mechanisms of latency and reactivation is vital for developing therapeutic strategies and vaccines against HSV-1, highlighting the importance of research tools like anti-HSV-1 antibody (20.7.1) in studying this complex viral behavior.
