HSV-1/2 ICP35 Antibody (H745) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 antibody that detects HSV-1/2 ICP35 of HSV-1 and HSV-2 origin by immunofluorescence (IF). Anti-HSV-1/2 ICP35 antibody (H745) is available as the non-conjugated format. Infected Cell Polypeptide 35 (ICP35) plays a crucial role in the herpes simplex virus life cycle, functioning as a scaffolding protein integral to viral nucleocapsid assembly. ICP35 is essential for forming sealed viral capsids, necessary for protecting viral genetic material and successful virus propagation. ICP35 interacts with itself and with major capsid protein VP5, facilitating viral capsid structural integrity and stability. Understanding ICP35 function is vital, as ICP35 not only contributes to viral replication but also represents a potential target for therapeutic interventions aimed at disrupting herpes simplex virus lifecycle.
