HSV-1/2 gB Antibody (10B7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects HSV-1/2 gB protein of HSV-1 and HSV-2 origin by western blotting (WB) and immunofluorescence (IF). Anti-HSV-1/2 gB antibody (10B7) is available as the non-conjugated format. Glycoprotein B (gB) plays a pivotal role in herpes simplex viruses′ life cycle, being essential for viral envelope fusion with host cell membrane, a critical step for viral entry and infection. This fusion process occurs through gB interaction with specific receptors on target cell surfaces, enabling viral genetic material delivery into the host. gB exists as a homodimer, stabilized by disulfide bonds crucial for function.
