HSCARG Antibody (D-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects HSCARG protein of human, mouse, and rat origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). HSCARG (D-1) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. HSCARG, also known as NMRAL1 (NmrA-like family domain-containing protein 1), is a 299 amino acid redox sensor protein that plays a crucial role in cellular redox homeostasis and stress response. HSCARG primarily localizes to the cytoplasm and perinuclear region, with potential translocation to the nucleus under conditions of increased intracellular nitric oxide and altered NADPH/NADP+ ratios, which is significant for regulating gene expression in response to oxidative stress. HSCARG exists as a homodimer and interacts with argininosuccinate synthase 1 (ASS1), inhibiting ASS1 activity when NADPH/NADP+ levels are low, thereby influencing the urea cycle and nitric oxide synthesis. HSCARG is encoded on human chromosome 16p13.3 and mouse chromosome 16 A1, and HSCARG overexpression has been associated with enhanced cell viability, highlighting HSCARG importance in cellular survival mechanisms.
