HPV18 E7 Antibody (F-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects HPV18 E7 protein by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). HPV18 E7 Antibody (F-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. HPV18 E7 protein plays a critical role in cervical cancer pathogenesis by interacting with retinoblastoma protein (pRB), leading to cell cycle regulation disruption. This interaction is significant because pRB is a key tumor suppressor that normally inhibits cell cycle progression; thus, E7 binding to pRB results in E2F transcription factor release, promoting uncontrolled cell division and contributing to oncogenesis. High-risk HPV types, including HPV18, are found in approximately 90% of cervical cancer cases, making HPV18 E7 protein detection and study vital for understanding HPV-related malignancies and developing targeted therapies.

Can you recommend a positive control to use with HPV18 E7 (F-7) for Western blot?

Asked by: cjMara
We recommend HeLa Whole Cell Lysate : sc-2200 to use as positive control as we have Western blot data showing specific detection of HPV18 E7 in this cell line.
