SEE ALSO...

HPV16 L2 (2JGmab#5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects HPV16 L2 protein of HPV-16 origin by western blotting (WB) and immunofluorescence (IF). HPV16 L2 (2JGmab#5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. HPV16 L2 protein plays a crucial role in the viral life cycle, particularly in the assembly and stability of the viral capsid. HPV16 L2 protein interacts with the major capsid protein L1, facilitating the encapsidation of the viral genome during the assembly process. L2 binding to L1 is essential for proper capsid formation, ensuring efficient viral DNA packaging and protection. L1-L2 interaction is vital for viral infection of host cells, as L1 protein forms the outer shell while L2 participates in internal processes necessary for viral replication. Understanding L1-L2 interaction dynamics reveals HPV16′s pathogenic mechanisms and highlights potential therapeutic targets for preventing HPV-related diseases, including cervical cancer.
