HoxC5 Antibody (1E10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects HoxC5 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-HoxC5 antibody (1E10) is available as the non-conjugated format. HoxC5 protein, also known as homeobox C5, CP11, HOX3, or HOX3D, is a crucial transcription factor composed of 222 amino acids that plays a significant role in embryonic development by regulating gene expression. HoxC5 is localized in the nucleus, where HoxC5 binds to specific DNA sequences, thereby influencing the transcription of target genes essential for establishing positional identities during development. HoxC5 involvement in intricate regulatory networks guides morphogenesis, as HoxC5 is part of a larger family of Hox genes located on chromosome 12, which harbors over 1,100 genes and is implicated in various skeletal deformities such as hypochondrogenesis and achondrogenesis. HoxC5 exists in multiple alternatively spliced isoforms, enhancing functional diversity and making HoxC5 a vital component in developmental processes that shape the organism.
