SEE ALSO...

hnRNP K/J Antibody (3C2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects hnRNP K/J protein of mouse, rat, human, and Xenopus origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and flow cytometry (FCM). hnRNP K/J (3C2) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein K (hnRNP K) plays a crucial role in mRNA metabolism, including transcription, pre-mRNA processing, and the transport of mature mRNA to the cytoplasm for translation. hnRNP K primarily localizes in the nucleus but can shuttle between the nucleus and cytoplasm, which is essential for regulating gene expression. hnRNP K contains two K homologous (KH) domains that facilitate interactions with various molecular partners, thereby influencing multiple cellular processes. Additionally, hnRNP K has several phosphorylation sites, including Ser 302, which is a major site for protein kinase C delta phosphorylation. This post-translational modification modulates hnRNP K′s ability to bind DNA and RNA, affecting its role in transcriptional regulation and nucleocytoplasmic shuttling. hnRNP K′s versatility in interacting with other proteins and dynamic localization underscore its importance in cellular function and gene expression regulation.

Can I get the epitope sequence or approximate region? That will be great.

Asked by: WEI huaxia
Thank you for your question. This IgG2bκ antibody clone was raised against purified full length human hnRNP K/J. Epitope mapping has not been carried out and thus binding region yet remains uncharacterized.

I am using hnRNP K/J (3C2): sc-32307 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

Asked by: cjMara
We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
