SEE ALSO...

HMGCL Antibody (63Z) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects HMGCL protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-HMGCL antibody (63Z) is available as the non-conjugated format. HMGCL, or 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-Coenzyme A lyase, is a crucial mitochondrial matrix protein that plays a significant role in leucine catabolism and ketone body synthesis, particularly during fasting when ketone bodies serve as a vital energy source for the heart, brain, and kidneys. HMGCL exists as a homodimer and catalyzes the final step in the metabolic pathway, cleaving 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl CoA into acetoacetic acid and acetyl CoA. Proper functioning of HMGCL is essential for maintaining energy homeostasis, and mutations in the gene encoding HMGCL can lead to HMG-CoA lyase deficiency, a serious metabolic disorder that can result in severe hypoglycemia and coma if not managed appropriately. HMGCL (63Z) antibody′s ability to accurately detect HMGCL makes this reagent an invaluable tool for researchers studying metabolic pathways and related disorders.
